Diwali Fest NJ
Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the most widely celebrated South Asian holidays. In 2017 and 2018 in Maplewood, Diwali Fest NJ offered a distinctive and authentic experience of South Asia that reflected the tremendous artistic and cultural diversity of the region. The festival featured South Asian American dancers, musicians, chefs, writers, and artists, including Bollywood dancing. It also offereda sampling of a variety of regional cuisines from local South Asian restaurants and vendors who sold an eclectic mix of jewelry, clothing, and handicraft. There were also educational programs for children.
Lunar Fest NJ
Lunar New Year is the beginning of the year according to the lunar calendar, and is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in Asia. Lunar Fest NJ 2018 in Maplewood was a grand celebration of Asian Arts and Culture. It offered distinctive and authentic experience of Asia that reflected the tremendous artistic and cultural diversity of the region. The event featured local Asian American dancers, musicians, chefs, writers, and artists.There were also plenty of activities for kids.
Hola Fest NJ
!Hola! Fest NJ 2018 was Maplewood, NJ's first community-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The free event offered mariachi performers, samba dancers from Brazil , flamenco music and dancers and entertainers from Colombia, Bolivia, Dominican Republic and Mexico. There were also interactive workshops, crafts and Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) face painting for the little ones and activities for the entire family.
HAPI Fest NJ
HAPI Fest NJ 2019 was a celebration of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. HAPI Fest NJ was at its heart about honoring the long, rich cultural traditions of Asia and the Pacific Islands and providing an opportunity for all to enjoy and celebrate together as friends and neighbors. The event featured hula and Tahitian dancers, shadow puppets and ukelele musical ensembles.
